Megan & Steve’s Connecticut Autumn Wedding
October in Connecticut the best time to get hitched!
Early October has to be the absolute best time to get hitched in Connecticut. The leaves are changing, the days are still long, and the air has a fresh crisp to it. All the fall colors and flavors are so iconic and make you want to cuddle up with the ones you love. Megan and Steve did it right. They gathered their closest family and friends and tied the knot underneath one of the giant trees which adorn the property around the Webb Barn in Wethersfield. Megan looked stunning, both classic and modern, in a laced-sleeve dress, a long train, and a knee length veil. Steve was dressed to the nines in a custom three piece tweed suit. A light sage green theme tied the bridal party together, along with bright bouquets filled with roses, dahlias, and ranunculus.
Taking vows under the tree at Webb Barn
Within minutes of Megan and Steve beginning to share their vows, everyone was crying. These two love each other in such a deep way. They accept one another for who they are, and are excited to grow a life together centered on living for the other. Once they shared their vows, Steve turned to Megan’s daughter Tessie and made vows to her as well. Get the tissues ready…Steve vowed to love her as his own daughter and treat her with all the love and care which she deserves. Tears well in my eyes still thinking about it. This is what a husband and father is. A man who loves and serves his family, no matter what. Seems like Steve in a nutshell.
Capping off a classic Connecticut wedding
Following a cocktail hour with tasty hors d'oeuvres and acoustic guitar, everyone began to gather for the reception. Just before walking in, the sun gave Megan and Steve its own blessing with an incredible golden hour. The reception area was decorated elegantly with cafe lights, beautiful fall decor, and eucalyptus leaves. A three-tiered buttercream frosting cake, adorned with macaroons and flowers and baked by a friend of the bride, sat behind the couple while they were toasted and roasted by their best friends. All and all, the whole day was marked by a sense of love as smiles, kisses, and well wishes were passed all around. So many congratulations to Megan and Steve!
