Connecticut family photography is the gift that keeps giving

As the years go by, it gets harder and harder to get your parents birthday gifts that they will love and enjoy. The sentiment is always there, and of course they appreciate every demonstration of affection, but getting them gifts that last is a real challenge. My parents are no exception; they buy what they want throughout the year and they need less and less. The one thing that seems to always be a winner is getting them portraits with their grandkids. It is the gift that keeps on giving, it never gets old, and you can do it year after year and get a different outcome each time. Now the question is where to take them. You could do these in a studio, but our homes here in Fairfield County, Connecticut have so much character. We put so much effort into our paint choices, floral design, and landscaping that it is totally appropriate to use them as the setting for these portraits. This year my mom’s birthday lined up with Easter and since everyone would already be dressed nicely, I sprung the idea on her. She was so excited to get portraits done and since she had just had her floral planters finished days before, it made a perfect niche for these images. Here are a few samples below.

Mother’s Day is coming up…

Family photos mean more the older you get. Every parent knows that your kid changes every day, and then you blink and suddenly you barely recognize the kiddo in front of you. It is so special to have photos of them at every stage. Our phones take great photos now and even as a professional photographer, I take most take our family photos on my phone. They’re special, but limited. These phone camera images live on our devices and rarely get printed and even if they did, wouldn’t have the detail which comes from professional images. That is why it is so important to get professional images done at least once a year, and then definitely print your those images as soon as you receive them. Professionally printed, hanging on your living room wall is where they will truly shine. The need to print also kills two birds with one stone: getting the portraits done made for a memorable, lovely birthday gift and now with Mother’s Day coming up just around the corner, the plan is to get a few of these images printed nice and big as a wonderful Mother’s Day gift. These photos already have brought her so much joy on her phone, becoming immediate background images and photos she can share on her social media. Next, she’ll get even more joy being able to choose the perfect place in her home to have these prints displayed prominently.
